55 because it has round front parking lights, and the side trim is different on a '56 as well. Also this is not a Victoria, it clearly has a straight post (Vicky has no post) and no handlebar over the top (Crown Vic) which would make this a Fairlane Club Sedan.
It is indeed a '55 as everyone mentioned. I love it. Those promos are fairly rare and expensive to acquire. You have a gem there. I have a few Ford promos from the sixties, but none as old as your '55. Enjoy...Don.
Thanks!A guy on one of my Facebook Groups obtained in a lot of Tonkas and offered to sell it to me after I asked about it.
That 55 Ford promo is in amazing shape! These were made with an acetate plastic and tended to severely warp and crack over time (later ones were made of more stable styrene plastic). The fact that it remains straight enough that the original windows haven't popped out, probably puts it into the $150 range.
If you can zoom in on the script on the door I'd wager it says "Victoria." The 55 Ford Victoria promo appears to have a B-pillar but it actually represents the door and quarter windows rolled up. If it was a Club Sedan with a B-pillar the script would be on the rear fender toward the rear of the fin. I should know - I collect promos and have a 55 Vicky promo that's red-white two-tone to go with my 1:1 55 Victoria.
I had a Blue and white 1957 Ford model a friend of my Dads gave me in 1957. Played with it for years, tore it up, but had it in my bedroom when I left home. It had incredible detail! I guess it went out with my baseball cards! Bones
