I was over at Hampton blowers last year and he gave me what looked like a governor splined gear shaft. I cut the shaft off and had it machined and pressed into a 1949-1953 Flathead Ford Distributor Drive Gear. That worked out well but I need to replicate the larger hex drive gear and shaft. It seems like it's a flathead oil pump idler gear but the hex drive doesn't seem like it's pressed in, it looks machined as one piece.
The first picture looks like the shaft was pressed in, welded and the weld was machined flush with the gear. Look at the difference in color , the lighter area is the weld. Depending on the gear material it should not be hard to duplicate. Kenny
I don't think so, the 3/8" hex is standard for fuel pump drives Hilborn,Enderle, Waterman etc. You might be able to chuck it in a lathe and cut the gear off of he shaft and reuse the shaft. Kenny
