Very cool! Now to get a little advance warning for the next one without having to be on multiple social media platforms...
So cool! Half those cars are in my car club! I woulda gone but I was thrashing my car at TROG. The T is my pal Jareds car and he drag races the hell out of it.
Thanks for the great pictures!! Myself and my club mates from the Sin Alley Saints CC were humbled and honored to have our cars at this event. I will upload some of the pics I have taken as well. I got all giddy when Mr Wayne Carini complemented my '30 Roadster!!
Looks like he's talking to Tommy Kendall in front of a cameraman... maybe it'll be on an upcoming episode of the show?
The Hirohata Mercury has been at Wayne's shop (store) recently at least. He does like hot rods and make no bones about it though.
FunFact: I used to live in the same town as Wayne's shop, about 2-miles away. Prior to it being his shop, it was Barberino Pontiac-Nissan, and my parents bought their Stanza there. Never met the guy.
I really enjoy the Big Picture...both Coasts, all in between above and below and everywhere else...basically the Whole Kit and Kaboodle... More pics...Rub that cool in eh!! Thanks for diversifying The Scene @Jive-Bomber, because it is...
Good stuff. We were down there showing/participating in the Concours and made a stop over to check out the display of Hot Rods. I knew most of them and have full appreciation for the quality of those cars and the pride of ownership. It sure was neat to see the Hirohata Merc in person. What an iconic sled. The best part is hearing the observations, comments and respect many of the perceived "stuffed shirts" have for genuine hot rods. Seems many of them have a true appreciation for the impact hot rodding has had on the car culture and the importance of preserving history past Duesenburg's and Delahayes.
I was there too! It was a great show and bummer that they closed down Rough Point for tours. Really enjoyed seeing the Hirohata Merc in person, WOW! The whole week was really great and some nice traditional rods at the Concours Village during the week too.
