    Amarillo Dragway

    Howdy folks,

Tyler from Amarillo Dragway here inviting you to come to the Amarillo Nostalgia Nationals on October 15th & 16th. While this isn't exactly the most period correct traditional drag race, everyone with 1979 and older vehicles are welcome to come help us celebrate the history of one of Texas' oldest dragstrips.

Home of the 1971-1973 NHRA World Finals and the 1974-1977 IHRA World Nationals, Amarillo Dragway is celebrating it's 61st Anniversary this October. Headlining the event will be the Southwest Superchargers, the Texas Nostalgia Super Stock Shootout, the Injected Funy Car, Altered and FED Tour, as well as Ray Kelly's Jet Dragster & Jet Funny Car. There will also be a car show and swap meet on Saturday. We'll start things off on Friday night with time trials followed by a Jet Dragster vs Jet Funny Car Match Race (super nostalgic, right?). After the Jets we'll have a fireworks show to close out the night. Saturday will start off with two rounds of time runs followed by eliminations. To round out the event on Saturday, we'll run the Jets again followed by fireworks.

We would sure like to have you join us. If you have any questions shoot us a message on our facebook page. Can't wait to see ya!

I'm curious; what's your elevation there?

3600 feet. To get an idea of how your car will feel when it is running under full throttle, if you run at sea level, just pull one of the spark plug wires off. ;)

    Ha-ha! Thanks.
We run at Penwell; so we're used to picking up nearly 50 HP when we go to Ennis.
