History What would younger you say?

Younger me would say, "Why did it take you over 50 years to finally build that '39 Chev coupe I wanted?"

 

Dang GMC 41 ! I say we rent you out as a body double !!

 

me in my 20s will hopefully have the fairlane done by then...

 

Good lord, If I could return to my twenties and retain all the knowledge and wisdom that I gained through the years.
Only chance of that is to p*** it on to someone that wants to learn.

Well, not what the he would say to me, but I just came across the Holley 750 I used in HS.

I’d ask HIM why the heck did you take choke and linkages off, and where the hell are they?

I don't know about younger me, but older me would say to buy Apple stock first then all of the Halibrands, quickchanges and '32-'34 Fords that you can find...

The biggest thing I would say to myself is "Buy Microsoft penny stock" If I would have done that money issues would be different, never had the problems of too much money, I believe I could have handled it. LOL No regrets, we don't get do overs, just learn as we go, IMO. Hindsight Perfect, Foresight, Not so much.

 

Younger me was a complete Ahole, younger me woulda told today me to F-off.

I had to develop the ability to filter my mouth and stop punching people in the face. It's been a struggle to get here.

Edit: oh yeah. I lived 3 miles from giant lake. Why I built cars instead of boats and jet skis - Never occurred to me until later in life.

 

Maybe I should get something with a backseat!

 

Back seat you say, Hmmmm..............made me a Daddy, oldest daughter 50+ is visiting me today for a few days with my grandson, I enjoy her company.

 

First off, I really enjoy reading all these responses. Good job to the OP.

I have built quite a few cars and motorcycles in the 21 years since I was 20. Surprisingly, I have come full circle. I had a Hot Model A coupe in 2000 that I drag raced and drove to cruise nights, car shows, etc. A**** others in my collection, I now have a '32 3 Window that has a 540 BBC and is lightning quick. Still a street car.

I like to think 20 year old me and 41 year old me would get along. We certainly would have the same taste in both cars and women

20 year old me would say "hahaha. You're fat and bald."

41 year old me would laugh and say "maybe so, but I have done things and been places you can't even imagine, son."

 

Don't waste so much of your money chasin' pu--y, spend it on important stuff like hot rods and beer!
