they don't call it "resale red" for nothing... Most everyone likes red. The color I don't understand on Hot rods is gray, just lays there I have a "little red corvette" Is maroon close enough to red??
For some reason in my model building I have had an aversion to red because it's too 'common'. But recently I challenged myself to build a model of the McGee Roadster and dangit if I don't love it more because it's red.

Love Red Cars, but never owned one as they were always way more expensive than 'standard' colors. But, life is not over and I have a few driver cars cooking around the "Family Plantation" that could be,,,,,,,,
Any shiny hot rod or custom gets me looking a little more then any not done yet. The shiny colors add a ton of extra cool an the shiny color picked is often amazing add too overall. I did a lot of art in my younger years,an color is,an will always be emotional too the viewer. I do like red an orange,as colors the most! ,,they say your fav. color can give away your inter self. For a time after my US Army time,I avoided green. But all things have exceptions. Part of the fun ! Do to always having a small piggy bank,my first hotrod I built n painted in 1959 { I still have },was n is High Gloss Black w a little yellow trim. But some times It's parked next to another cool car. I this pic,you can see reflextion of the shiny RED HOT 32 next to me. Letting a RED HOT Gal behind the wheel is extra too !!
Red hot rods are about the easiest color to find on the web 23 pages worth and climbing. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/lets-see-some-red-hot-rods.1221831/
Sometimes it's the only color that would be right. Sometimes it's a fuckin cliche'. I had a red hot rod once or twice but it's not near the top for me. I'm a green guy. Maroon? HATE IT. The color just bores me to tears and I'm a finisher by trade 1st so you'd think I'd be more accepting of it. I'm not and almost never have been. Most are just wrong. Yes, I said it, wrong. Too opaque and looks like a plastic toy in bright light. My red O/T hot rod was Porsche India Red with blue pearl on the highlights. All the edges lit up like grape soda under street lights. Back to the ideal of the topic, my favorite? This could be no other color and stops me every time for another look: Amirite?
I'm more of a low-key kinda guy, but decided to pull all the stops when building my latest project, a '31 Model A roadster. I used Eastwood's "Pin-Up Red" single-stage urethane and couldn't be happier. Painted it in pieces in my driveway...
I don’t hate red, but it’s not my favorite, either. Being red- green Colorblind, I don’t see reds and greens as others do, so I’m not attracted to them. Give me blues, yellows, blacks.
