Why was my thread trying to ID a part removed?

Trying to find out what a Magnum 500 center cap was from, posted a pic of it. It was a generic Ford part and not Mustang, I knew that much. And yes, I searched first before posting but did not find an answer. What I did find was 7 pages of search results for "Magnum 500" which seems excessive for something that is apparently OT if I post it Even had a classified show up with someone selling a set of Magnum 500 caps.

 

Clearly you are on a list….Do you get a feeling you are being watched….

Things have tightened up around here the last few years, magnum 500’s are not really a traditional hot rod or custom wheel, they are more a muscle car era wheel. Don’t take it personally.

 

They were available aftermarket in '65, a set of 4 chromed would set you back $120, wow. And I have saw them on everything from Model A's to 50's Fairlanes. Can't get more "traditional" than updating your wheels with a set from a later model.

 

Depends on your definition of traditional. This place has a pretty narrow focus.
