I am getting ready to rebuild an AMC 327 V8 for a '66 Jeep. I have found two different TRW valve part numbers that appear to be for the same part from photos I have found. I can't unfortunately find any old TRW part books that tell me any differences in the two: They are TRW S2294 and TRW S2507 Thanks to anyone that can help. Dan
Im not near my old catalogs at the moment but if I recall correctly one of them only has a single groove on the stem while the other has multiple.
The S2507 crossed to a Manley A1335, which is multiple groove. The s2294 didn't come up in my cross-over book. But, when I look in Manley catalog for the 327, years 1959-68, it lists S1336 for intake, and S1335 exhaust multi-groove, and A1853 single groove. These are Manley numbers. Hope this doesn't confuse....too much.
Photos of both I found show multi groove. Of course, the second number is handwritten, so it may be an error. I do know that TRW S2604 are single groove valves for the same engine.
I have (1) TRW S2604 valve on my shelf and wasn't sure what it fit until I googled the number and your post came up! Accoirding to my old TRW catalog it fits an AMC 304 ... however this catalog only covers 1973 and newer ... it may be the same for earlier engines (327) ... The specs on the valve are 4.892" OAL ... it has a 44 degree face angle and has a single groove ... the valve head diameter is 1.400" Hope this helps you and if you need this valve contact me.
My 1964 TRW cat. For S -2294, 1 13/32 " hd. dia. , .371" stem, 4.734" ( bottom of 45 face to end of stem) multi -groove. As noted , has 45 degree face. To old for other number.
