I found this sweet 1960 International Van-Pelt firetruck for sale locally yesterday. Listed on Hemmings, but also had a low price on FB Marketplace. Oh, but the look the wife gave me... I guess she thinks one IHC is enough. I love this thing, but I must admit the Loadstar is more practical for us.
Even more rare, a SNO-CAT. Now the cab looks custom, but the front clip looks like it came off of a donor of some sort. Anyone know what?
The cabs were custom built by SNO-CAT in Medford, as was the rest of the rig. I'm not sure of patent info, etc. but they were famous and popular with ski resorts, U.S. Forest Service, hiway departments, etc. There are modern versions (badged Sno-Cat) operating on Mt. Hood, I believe. The grille looks vaguely like an International (big) truck component. Great picture. Thanks!

My Aunt ( by marriage ) gave me a copy of Her Dad with his truck loaded with sacks of grain . I’m guessing the grain was oats by the size of the bags and the size of the load . Oats weighs 32 lbs per bushel. Wheat 60 lbs per bushel
