Will the front suspension on a 34 Chrysler handle a small block and handle ok on the road? Also what about the stock juice brakes?

A small block most likely weighs less than the original engine.

Might put a 331 hemi in my '33 Royal 8. The parallel leafs look like they will work. We'll see about the brakes. All new, should be fine if you don't drive stupid.

I believe the 34 Chrysler has 14" drums, they should be able to stop you.

  6. In regards to the modification of a small block engine update, it sure sounds like it is a GO!

Thinking about maybe buying this car. Just trying to figure out what all I will need to do to make it a better driver. Seller says other than motor and trans, its all stock. Wheels have to go. 1934-Chrysler-Other Chrysler Models-antiques--Car-101630318-82f280fc5db202abbd695bd58d2e651d.jpg

The first race car trailers I ever built,in 1964 was a one* axles homemade trailer out of free stuff I could find to build it out of,open flat platform thing,it worked great for over a year, when there was big race I wanted to tow up state a about a 100 miles too. So desided to repack the old wheelbearings again,an looking at them, thought"just go buy some new wheel bearing!.
I has no idea what the old axle even was, only that it was big an heavy duty, but the Bearing place looked up the Timken #'s on old bearings, an told me that it was a 1937 Chrysler Crown front axle. I had kind of thought it was out of a truck, when first dragging it out of the woods. That thing worked fine for me,tell I sold it 2 years later. To build another race car trailer with some even better **** I had found.
