I need a little help. I'm going to do a ch***is for a channeled 29 A sedan. I'm in a quandary about the outside width of the rear end. I don't want it to wide but also not letting the tires rub the body. I've contacted a notable builder of channeled A's and he says 62-65 inches. Car will be running tall skinneys. Thanks
What brake setup are you using on the rear axle? With tall skinnies sometimes it's more about where the backing plates end up.
Using the standard 11 inch Ford drum brake. My normal rear end width for a non channeled A is 56 inches.
Do you know what the width of the rims are going to be? Offset? I agree with Sawbuck 62-65" seems really wide.
I contacted another builder today that has done a few channeled A's and he recommended a 60 inch outside width with 16X5 inch rims with a 3 inch back set.
