Projects 1948 Anglia Southeast Gassers build

Starting a thread on my 48 Anglia I’m building to compete in SEGA A/Gas. Will be 408” bbc powered injected with a Jerico Dr4. Chassis and suspension is done, finishing up pedals and a few things soon and then it’ll be time for paint/tinwork.

Those can be a handful to drive...

 

I have magnesium rear wheels, super light brakes, aluminum moser 9” with 40 spline gun drilled axles, trying to keep the car super light. Shooting for roughly 1900lb turn key not counting driver. Should be a wild little car.

Thanks bud! And It’s a moser 3.250 bolt through carrier.

I am keeping the homegrown name, this is what I’ve got in mind lettering/paint wise.

 

What happened to bracket racing with an automatic?! No Complaints on where this is going, just askin'.

 

SEGA isn't bracket racing. It is heads up by class. 4 speed trans is mandatory.

 

I just couldn’t get excited about the idea. Already had a glide, converter, and etc but just didn’t excite me. Plus I had a Jerico and Lakewood here so going back to SEGA with this one too.

 

I knew it, you said That in a moment of weakness!

 

Front axle, ladder bars, and rear end housing are all painted and drying. Hope to get it back up and rolling by the end of the weekend.

 

Just want to give you a word of THANKS for continuing to post on the HAMB. Except for you and Quain the rest of the SEGA guys have moved onto something else and we never get any news anymore.

 

Great job Zak ! That Bad-Boy is going to fly, the rear cooling is something I've not seen in any of the SEGA cars before.
Are you using a 396 block and crank? Bullet Camshaft? Cylinder heads?

 

Banger, I'm here but I guess I'm used to others posting their SEGA news. I will try to be more vigilant in the future, Carp!

 

Zak actually has the makings of a couple more SEGA cars plus the Homegrown '55. He and his Dad stay busy!

Yes GM 396 crank and block, comp custom grind cam, and AFR heads.

 

I have several theories I’m trying out as to why the radiator is on the trunk on the car, we’ll see how the theories play out once it’s at the track.

Starting the final assembly on the chassis now that it’s dry! Using an aluminum corvair steering box, and small solid rotor 2 piston super light wilwood brakes up front. Weight is a real concern on this car, trying to be super weight conscious with every piece.

 

It's going to be Fast Zak ! Can't wait for you to line up with Gabriel, that will be Classic Gasser Action !
