I was reorganising the garage and needed to move the T-Bird. It hadn't ran for ages so I decided to see if it would start and run around the block. Perfect video fodder! I then pick up the problem of water ejection on Old Rusty. I found the problem and eliminated it. I tack on a little bit of tinkering on the 32 sedan to round out this weeks offering from Mart's Garage video productions PLC.
Thanks for checking in on me, you take care and I'll catch you on the next one.

Mart, enjoyed the video on YouTube. Regarding the radiator problem. Don't see how your coolant recovery system would work with that radiator. It seems to me all it will do is collect and store coolant that has overflowed from the radiator. Good point about the shallow and deep radiator caps. The cap must match the depth of the radiator fill neck. Keep them coming.

Yeah, JWL That setup was for a previous rad. Hopefully the current rad will work ok after "finding it's own level" without any recovery system in place. I have bought a new cap with a rubber seal just in case. I can reinstate some sort of recovery system if it is needed.
Thanks for watching the videos, glad you enjoy them.

Mart, still confused about your coolant recovery system. The overflow tube is in the neck above the lower seal of the traditional style pressure cap. How does coolant get past the lower seal on the cap to transfer overflow coolant back into the radiator?

I had an overflow tank on my 32 three window. An attractive chrome one. All it did was collect overflow from the radiator, but could not transfer it back due to the location of the overflow tube. I removed it and just use an overflow tube that dumps coolant on the ground instead of the tank. I believe later model cars do use a coolant recovery system, but with a different style cap and plumbing.

    Looking forward to Friday's posting.
