    Tell us more Chop I was born in Elmhurst Queens and as a kid hung around Speed Garage on 51st Ave. They where the repair shop for Elm Motors on Queens Blvd.

    Hi Pat , i grew up in astoria and we had Nemos speed shop on 21 st street...i bought a 63 impala off of queens blvd and 63rd rd...bought cars from ehlmhurst , woodhaven , rockaway...all over the 5 bpros , long island , ...as you know im upstate now......probably bought and sold 200 cars at least....my wife is from woodside...there was a fellow who became a friend , i found out after i married he was friends with her brother,,he had 57 chevies..his license plate was FLOW...got a million stories..should i write a book ?? Your turn...

    hi pat , we had Dinos speedworld on queens blvd ...i bought a 1970 monte calo 454 automatic, green with light green interior,,,nice shape,,,quick flip back in the mid 80s,,they were cheap then...sold it to mike the counter guy..like i said lots of stories

    I remember Dino's , it was around the time I moved to LI. My friend Frank Gaizo owned Aero Locksmith and lived in Astoria, his brother Ron had a shop there. They raced connecting highway all the time.

    Yes it isms MG when it ran C/A it was around 67. There is also the Wilko bros. 53 Ford 4dr custom car with a nailhead Buick running Bob Lombardo's Eastern Automotive and Eddie Sanzo in the Sanzo and Sullivan BB/G 33 Willys which was the sister car to Jack Merkel's gl*** 33 Willys AA/G. Film is a little dark and was hard to see but great anyway.

    there was a 57 j2 olds that ran connecting highway , dechromed,,,,the guy that ran it was known as cowboy because he packed a gun.....

    Ron Gaizo ran of all things a 58 Olds with a 394 I think in it.

    i was just a kid back then and saw them run a couple of times as it was way past my bedtime....Born in 58...i met 2 brothers who had 8mm reels of a lot of the races but couldnt get them to let me archive them...maybe ill get lucky and bump into them some day as im frequently in woodside and have a friend in astoria too....
