Took a cruise from Omaha to Beatrice Nebraska with the Road Burners this weekend. Their 2nd annual. Great Cars in the park and Rockabilly music at Gibbs Bar. I'll be adding more pics so check back.
Here's a few more pic's at the bar , just before the music started. A huge thanks to the bands; Mezcals, Silverman, The ever popular Rumblejetts, and our own Otis with his new band The Red Line Rockets. With only a weeks practice together as a new band they were outstanding. Thanks to everyone who drove the 90 mile cruise with us ( a good part of them are hambr's ) It was a great time and the weather was perfect. Hope the Holiday Inn has recovered. Gary ( The Roadburner's )
OK, there's a bit a story here. It's a 50 Buick with a 3 speed tranny. This guy just happened to come by our event and saw all the cars and stopped. His story is this. He knew the owner, the car was stored in a shed in Nebraska for years till it fell down around it. It was moved outside for a while. He said it was pulled out of a wind row (tree lines between fields). You can see the tree marks on the roof. Very little rust, none on the outside that we could see. Motor is a straight 8 that they said was stuck, but they got it freed up pretty easy and now they can run it 70 mile an hour easy. All I can say is I love the car as well as everyone else who came out to see it. To bad they couldn't stay.
Soo..many neat pics. A lot of cool rides there..I like the roadster w/ the 46-48 Ford dash and the recessed fuel tank !!
See, and you folks thought there twern't nuthin but cornfield Caddy's out here, and the guys wearing their bib's and straw hats. P.S. I'm pooped, a lot of traffic on the way home, hwy 77 sure did keep me awake though with all the jossling on that wash board of a road. Ya'll all missed a damn good run, so be there next year, about the same time, same place....This is going to turn out to be one of the better traditional/rock-a-billy gatherings each year. Thanks to the "Road Burners" of Omaha
Damn, loooks like I missed a hell of a run. But it was the wifes B-day and I have to at least let her do what she wants on her B-day.
HAD A GREAT TIME you guy's know how to throw a party. music was loud and fast, just how i like my cars. was good meeting everyone. my ride home was great, truck ran great, no troubles.
And a couple more. This car has something changed or added every time we see it. Unfortunately he broke a valve spring on the way to Beatrice. I'm sure it's already fixed, though! It was great to have the South Omaha Turds join us. Dick (XDerelict) and Rob (RobLee) are very cool guys.
thanks for the pictures hat man! nice work again. man was that fun! charlie from the mezcal brothers drove all the way over to omaha just to make the run with us. hell, thats one of the best parts of the weekend, ya can't miss the drive. gary made his best batch of orange whips EVER and it's always great to hang with cilla and the boys from the rumblejetts. (who ended up with most of the orange whips on their faces!) as malcolm mentioned, the south omaha turds were with us and are about the coolest guys you could want at your party. those guys know what it's all about. dick and rob made it off the S list, skipped right over the R list, and have landed at a very high Q lister status. no turd belongs north of Q!! (isn't that by-law #3?) thanks for rolling with us and sometime could you let me know where you left my plymouth!!!? that 90 mile walk home SUCKED!!!!! road burners baby!!!!!
