Merry Christmas folks! I drive out to this old church frequently. It's only about ten miles away. It was built in 1844. I enjoy this photo because I am the youngest thing in it.

    Have a great holiday!

Lookin' good, Ron. Great pic. I'm assuming you made the 'nice' list this year?

  6. ^^^ I need to explain the above...
I lived for years in a "keeping up with the Jones's" neighborhood, and every year the entire development went nuts with Christmas decorations and lighting. One year, as my across-the-street neighbor was putting up their lights, his wife started ragging on me (good naturedly) about my attitude towards lighting (anti-lighting actually, I don't like ladders so I'm NOT gonna climb up on one for 4 weeks of decoration!).
So... just to shock and piss off the neighborhood (and give the harried husbands a laugh) I made this 4' X 8' lighted sign.
I put it up each year for about 6 years and got some pretty good comments as well as somewhat of a reputation: while Trick-or-Treating for Halloween, I heard several kids over the years tell their friends "This is the Grinch house!".
    Mission accomplished!!

saw a real cute display a couple years ago. it was a lighted cutout of the grinch with his dog , pulling a long string of lit lights down from the front of a house and coiling them in his sled. gave me a good belly laugh.
