Damn, that's one thing I REALLY miss here on the East Coast...the old indoor Car Shows/Autoramas.
Back in the 60s/early 70s, when Rods & Customs were not welcomed at Antique Car shows, the Autorama was the ONLY place to see a bunch of these type cars, all in one place.
I guess the NSRA, KKOA, Rod Runs etc. made these types of shows obsolete...but I miss the "electricity and excitement" of the old Autoramas...I guess I'm just a dinosaur :(

Thanks for the additional pics and info!
There were a lot more Hamb worthy cars there. Just didn’t get time to shoot them all. I know there are a lot more on FB from Al Liebmann.

  21. It is a great show to start off the Christmas season. This year it sure was a good turnout with a great variety of builds . Not shown was a super show car display of Al Capones original car done with modern upgrades. Plaque stated it was the original paint. Just one of many that caught my eye. A highlight for me was meeting the owner of the green 38 Coupe and getting the history of the car. Painted by Tom Downey here locally many years ago and sporting Gebler headers . Way too many cars to comment about .......... showing a car is a lot of work so thanks to all who brought out their cars .

This seems to have been missed by quite a few photographers. It belongs to HAMBer Jesse Jaeger

I know there's a lot of pride and big bucks in these engine compartments, but most of these cars on display should be shown with the hood, trunk, doors closed. They are great looking cars with beautiful colors, lines, metal work, shapes, etc and, in my opinion, would show better as if in motion. Maybe set aside some limited time for hoods up display.
The green Model-A coupe is a winner.
