Projects 55 chevy battery tray mount under the hood?

    Are there cage nuts behind the firewall to mount the battery tray? I can't see anything from the interior and I afraid to take the tray off and then cannot reinstall it later. IMG_3235[1].JPG

    I think they're welded to the inside of the firewall, rather than being caged nuts. But it's been a few years.

    They are captured there unless someone has really ******ed them up you will have no problem just unscrewing the bolts. Just did this on my 56 replacing the tray.

    I think the nuts are welded on the backside of the firewall, Like the hood hinge brackets.
    I've had mine off on my 56 with no problem.

    Yep, like squirrel said, they're welded to the the firewall, hidden by the pad under the dash.
