y'all ain't fool'in me!! Those look more like dealership repair facilities than " my lil old workshop"! Bowee-pleeze!!!!! 6sally6 PS J/K BTW NICE stuff!
Time out !!!!! The shop pics I posted is the Galt Strokers car club shop. Not mine !!! Just one of my favorite shop collections. Mr. Moriarity collection is Coolsville as well . I have some neat pieces and have a few pieces I have regret selling but I am in the “D” league compared to MR. MM. Now if I could pull off the correct Lotto ticket, then I would strive to attain the same levels . I am just a poor handicapped old fart out here trying to build one truck and maybe another future car . I am more of a one legged mule in an *** kicking contest.
So much stuff comes and goes through this place, it's a constant battle trying to keep a spot clear enough to work on anything.
I've done plenty of work in single stalls (and outdoor "no-stalls!") so I totally agree. I like my cozy little two-stall. At least, until I see threads like this and get a glimpse at some of the shops other guys are rambling around in. I do seem to get some work done in mine though, on occasion.
Here’s the shop at our Farm . My GreatGrand father built it in the late 50’s . 30x60’ . My Grandpa made the fixture that was used to build the wooden rafters using 1”x4” boards . It was first used to feed calves in . There were bunks along each side where grain was poured into . There’s 3 generations of stuff crammed under the benches and shelves . It’s where I work on projects and Farm stuff . Where I put the rebuilt 312 into my 57 Fairlane and worked on it .
I really love the history and look of your family barn Okie Pete. My workspace was a local family machine shop from the 1940's to late 60's. They never electrified the machinery everything was belt driven. You can see one of the wooden pulley's in the rafters. Power was supplied from a tractors pto just outside the door..
This one is my old Body Shop about 20 years ago, everything outside so we could sweep and blow the dust out inside the shop , working on my 33 C400 ( Before I Cut it up )
All due respect to a couple of the shots in this post, but... About the best...garage scene that I've seen - This is a picture that I took...of a picture hanging on the wall at the NHRA museum of the "Ridge Route Terrors" (Bakersfield), circa 1960's, James Warren and Roger Coburn. Looks like they ran one of the West Coasts fastest Top Fuel cars out of a pretty small garage at one time. Ya have to look close to see the "stuff" on the floor and hanging on the walls. Mike
