Short short: Reece Good is a very skilled and talented kustom bike builder. On his way back from an out of state show, with a trailer full of bikes, he pulled into KC KS to get gas, stretch his legs. His two companions, one asleep, the other somehow got involved with a belligerent type at the filling station. Reece, if you knew him, would never start anything--he is a really good person. Anyway, they pulled out and some psycho dip**** with an automatic weapon pulled up next to them and fired away, lacing his dually with holes. Unfortunately he was hit in the head, hand, thigh. He didn't even know what it was about.

Anyway, here's a web page my daughter (her husband, a racer--drag, oval, etc --is Reece's mentor and friend) did--I think you can go to this and contribute if you wish to. And those near KC, and Gardner area might want to stop over for some BBQ. Thanks. Gman

This is unbelieveable! You can't even get gas without an idiot/maniac pulling some **** like this. What the **** are these idiots doing with automatic ***ault rifles on the street? Man, I hope he comes out of this OK and if I was in a little better financial situation I'd send the bucks, however, I've got my own medical bills to pay. I can say a prayer and wish the best for him though. I hate to see this kind of ****!

Seems like the good guy always ends up on the raw end of things. My thoughts and prayers are with them. And as Big Ken said I hope they catch the low life that did this.

No one caught for it yet. The Kansas City, Kansas PD thinks it was related to some other shootings in the area. RG was fighting his way out of a coma last I heard (2 days ago) with some hopeful signs, like squeezing a hand for an answer, etc. It makes me heartsick, so I know his close friends are really just devastated. Prayers do help, I know that for a fact.

I don't think so but I'm asking her (my daughter) if there is. Thanks. When I told her it was on HAMB she looked in, had this to say:

Wow... Thanks for p***ing out the message – I like the hokey-*** message board peeps.
He is still in a coma – opens his eyes occasionally. I’ll let you know when there are changes to his condition.

That's great, man. Who's your uncle? I know of Stricker's--was hoping to find a trailer through them. I know some come through, but found one. Yes, karma--one hopes trash WON'T get away with crime.

That's a damn shame. I hope he makes a full recovery.

  17. That's a little different info then the police are givin' out. I hated to see it but I hated to see where he stopped for gas also. Although not many safe places to stop for gas in the metro these days.

What's up with him last I heard he was makeing progress?

Certain areas in KCK are kind of iffy, you're right. I can't get much word on his progress. Hope to hear more real soon. The bleeding was stopped early on, then fluids subsided. Then they started working on him coming out of it so they could work on his hand. It all just sounds unreal to me, no matter how much TV I see on this kind of thing. See you at the BBQ?

Quoting from the Kansas City Star dated August 13:

"Friends of a custom-motorcycle builder from Gardner who was critically injured in a Friday morning shooting in Kansas City, Kan., have set up a fund to help with medical expenses. Reece Good was shot about 3:15 a.m. Friday. Police were searching for the people who fired shots from a car into the truck Good was riding in. Donations can be made to the Reece Good Live to Ride Fund at the Gardner National Bank, 840 E. Main St., P.O. Box 429, Gardner, KS 66030."

To keep up-to-date on his progress, here's a link to a Google News search for Reece Good:

My daughter just gave me the same info re: fund--thanks for posting it, that's perfect. And she says he woke up! In that email (just got it) she says:

"About an hour ago, Reece woke up... He is groggy and looking around – this is all I know until I get a chance to talk to Heath (his brother) and his mother - more to come soon"

Very nice. Glad to hear he is making serious progress. I'll be headed back to Kansas City from the HAMB drags on Sunday - I should make time to stop by the shindig.
