It has been a busy couple of months. I spent fourteen days out on the West Coast. Before that trip I pulled the 48 Ford motor out of my coupe for a couple of issues. Broken valve, flywheel repair and rebalance. Also found a bad U-joint. With the help of Ronnie Roadster the motor was gone through. A new valve train and hot cam were also installed. I have been working on the coupe just about every day. Making improvements all along the way. Today I got the motor back in the car. Working on a finished full fender car ****s. Now I will start the re***embly. While I'm at I am doing all new Bendix brakes, lines and everything else.
You should be Golden,,,,,,Ronnie really knows his stuff on the Flatheads ! It all looks great ! Tommy
Great looking coupe and engine. Let’s hear it fire and run when you get it ****oned up. Boy that coupe is ***s.
Have the motor just about all ****oned up! Yesterday I was out running parts for the coupe in my roadster. Could not believe it was December 17th. That is over today cold icy rain. Should have the coupe running this week. I know you guys like pictures so here are a few from yesterday . before.
Glad you got the roadster out for a ride Mark. We're done for the winter up here in New Hampshire. 4 to 8 inches of snow over night here tonight Coupe is looking good! Tom
Beautiful cars and enjoy the weather as the white stuff is coming soon. The have been salting the roads here already so my season is done..
Did not plan on working on the coupe today, but I was in the garage anyway! got the interior all back in. and put the fan on
Moving right along. Stay after it, and check the road salt situation, might be able to get some break in miles. Got any friends at the local road dept? Call them and see if they've actually salted.
Coupe is all back together. Motor sounds great. I also converted the brakes to Boling Bros. Bendix. That is also finished and 32 is back on all four tires. Had to remove a little from the bottom of the spindles as expected to fit new backing plates. Start to work on new chopped top for my roadster next! Photos to follow.
Mark, Great move there with the brakes. The Bendix type have so much better stopping power. While you can learn to drive a standard thinking ahead about stopping and such it’s so much harder to anticipate what crazy moves others out on the roads will make. At the risk of sounding like an old man I am amazed at how many times I see people cruising through red lights.
Pete, yes I can’t wait to try them. My roadster is pretty good for early brakes but the coupe needed help. Big weight difference. You are correct, people blowing through stop signs all the time. Stay warm! Mark
