The ad states it's in it's 1963 configuration. I watched it run at McMinnville Dragstrip in 61 and 62, then it was a full time show car. By 1963 Bob Tindle was running a lightweight 63 Plymouth. 2012-07-23 152247.jpg This shot is it at a local Hi School show in Beaverton, Or.

I like the other one. No worries leaving it in a parking lot. And probably a whole lot less expensive, no deuce is cheap!

Long history, including running with a flathead and an Ardun...pretty sure hot rod historian and Oregon hot rodder Albert Drake owned it once..good history in a Rodder's Journal article....this photo is at Scappose, OR, posted here by MrModelT.

I don't see any pictures of it with the hood. I wonder if it is still with the car? Of course why would you cover that engine? I saw it at a NSRA Event in the Vancouver area a few years ago. It has always been a favorite of mine. It's not streetable as far as I can see but none the less if I was a rich man I would want it in my collection.

Yes, Albert Drake owned it for a short while. The Chicago Tribune did an article on the car about 20 years ago and in it Al said it had "....jumped the tow bar returning from the drags in 1955 and I had a chance to buy it." It sat by his house for a couple of months until he sold it to his sister's boyfriend. The next time Al saw it Bob Tindle owned it and it was in primer. Next came a yellow paint job and eventually Keith Randol got involved to build a show car for Tindle, and we all know the result of that effort.

Hello everyone, I am the current owner of the Orange Crate. I got it from Ted Gord who bought it in 1976 ( the year I was born). The car is visibly untouched since 1963 ( flames added in 1963). The car has recently underwent a full mechanical restoration with the help of some great friends and companies involved. I am wanting to pursue a dream ive had for a while is the reason I have decided to list it for sale. Glad you all enjoy the car like I do. Thanks, Steve

Thanks for keeping an icon as it should be...

We're still looking for 2500 people to invest. Let's see, 2500 people, $100 each. But only getting to have it in each individual garage once every 2500 days is going to be hell for logistics!

  16. Depends on your street, I guess. On my street it would see plenty of seat time.
