I found a "decent" 29 ford cabrolet about 2 hours from me.. only 6000 were made and only 200 are left in this country.. Im going to buy this body and turn it into a rat, just to piss off those oringinal *** holes .... :stands ----MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA steve-
You rule. Welcome. Ain't nothing too valuable to cut up. The truth is, a cut up well hot rodded car is usually worth MORE than a stocker.
Just think though if you cut it up the other 137 left will be much happier because they will be worth that much more. Like they say anybody can restore them, it takes a real man to cut one up.
If you cut them all up, nobody will know how much cooler they are as rods. I'm a historian and I've got to say keep around the stockers and find something roached to cut.

Restore the solid bodys... Cut up the basket cases.. Also i have a digital camera. it takes all ove 30 seoconds to get a pic onto the computer
With the exception of the '57 and the Cabriolet... those cars would be worth more as nicely hot/street rodded cars. Years ago, people did "cut up" old cars to build hot rods... but because of the hot rodding mentality, "cut up" turned into "carving out" and is now "surgically building". The standards have been raised in the hot rodding world to where the cars are a heck of a lot nicer that a resored original (unless it's a concourse restoration, which those are not)... hence the fact that a nicely street rodded Model A will bring almost twice as much money as a restored original. I just have to question why you would post a bunch of pics of restored cars on a hot rodding messageboard. That would be like me going into teh Model A Ford Club of America's website, where they are "dedicated to preserving Model A Fords to the way that Henry Ford created them" and posting pics of my hot rodded Model A. Supply and demand dictates that my car is worth more than 98% of their restored stockers, but to them, my car is a cut up piece of ****. Respecting this, I'd never go to their messageboard and expect them to welcome me with open arms... To add another slant on this... I believe most hot rodders can appreciate restored cars for what they are. You're probably not going to find these people in the majority on a messageboard... messageboards always seem to reflect the "extreme" ends of the spectrum in a particular genre of car. But, there are people here who respect the restored car, unlike most restorers. So you have restorers on one hand who are closed minded and cannot appreciate a finely crafted hot rod... and the hot rodders on the other hand that are open minded and accept both sides of car crafting. Depending on which one you are... you're either going to fit in or not. BTW, is there anyone that can photoshop this kids dad's cars so he can show him what they would look like "all cut up?" The kid can take a pic of his dad's Cabriolet to him, slammed, chopped etc. and say "when you croak, this is what I'm going to do to your cars." Hahahahaha, that's mean. Sam.

Ditch the license plates and wash the whitewalls and you've just increased that cars value by about $10,000. (***uming you swapped in a SBC, AOD and A/C also) Sam!
Gennies are nice especially the restored rare ones , BUT ya can't DRIVE em , most will only do 50 mph 70 p***ing, at that speed your all over the road and if ya splash one where the hell ya gonna get parts in Bm Fk Wyoming.That and the insurance would KILL ya. that said VERY NICE mueseum pcs you got there. I say keep the cabby ther way it is ,but ROD that PU or SD! not a lot of resale there anyway and that IS worth more as a rod. HMMMMM hey! I know a G***ER! trend is away from rsto's, Bcause of those very reasons, and even most restorers now have rods or 50's mild customs as drivers. come time to sell, I'll lay odds at least 2-3 of the five go overseas.and at 2 will end up as rods at some point.
I can apreciate both, and prefer rods actually. The cars are my grandfathers. I posted them cause i figured yall would enjoy seeing some nice old tin, my mistake. As for the being worth more? No. the GMC, and the Panel are quite rare. panel being one of about 1900 built, its worth a lot more restored than hacked up. ditto for the GMC.. Also.. who the **** cares how much their worth? theyre never gonna be leaving our family anyways. The GMC, and the 34's Have been in our family and restored since the 70's (yes those paint jobs are 30 years old) the 57 has been in the family for as long as ive been on this earth.. 19 years. And We DO drive them He took the 37 Panel to New york and back (from halifax) the 34 to Nfld and back etc. they arent trailer queens.

sorry did'nt mean to ruffle ur feathers an we DO like em just hackin on ya a bit ,I for one do enjoy and work on resto's, merely stating a trend is ( my club has 4 of 7-9 remaining Pan Motor Cars,not a rod in the bunch),but if your gonna post a stocker expect some rod talk, this is after all a rod site. welcome
