Technical What would you do for a hobby of cars were outlawed?

Talking with a buddy the other day and he asked what I would do if they decided to outlaw fossil fueled hot rods.

I hadn’t thought about it. It’s all I do. It’s all I think about, what I spend my money on, what I plan my vacations around. I started my first hot rod build at 11 years old.

I guess I would start messing with antiques and firearms. Maybe blacksmithing?

What about you?

I'd convert mine to all electric AWD.
And make them twice as fast, just to piss them off.

Someday "traditional" is going to mean anything that was powered by fossil fuels.

 

I already have a killer hobby besides cars....I restore, use and sell vintage axes. But I'll burn fossil fuels til I die.

I'd make fossil fuel and bootleg it

 

Spend time counting all the money I would have saved....

 

They will have to prize my cold fingers off the shifter first! Maybe take up knitting ?lol

I'd spend more time riding my vintage fossil fueled motorcycles.

 

Live like in a Mad Max movie....nomadic...always searching for the precious "go juice". Lol

 

And rent out a place to drive them…..

 

I think I would go get a steel beak and pick **** with the chickens. . .

 

If auto racing becomes all-electric, then noise abatement restrictions would be irrelevant, right?
So we can race all night long!

 

I **** at math, so electric cars would put me on the bench…

 

Convert my cars to run on 100% ethanol.

 

I would be too old to worry about it by then.
