Will parts from a 31 model banjo rearend fit in a 1932 banjo rearend ? the drive shaft setup with long shaft on the 31 and the short shaft with coupler and shaft on the 32 has me confused , first time I’ve torn one down

If it’s the early 32 rearend the ring and pinion are the same along with the axle shafts. The rear end housing is the same as well. If it’s the later 32 rear nothing.

Yes ^^^ and if you have the short coupler at the rear of the drive shaft, you have the late 32 style, actually a better rear end, you could spring over mounts on there and use it

The one I got is a 1930 it has the solid steel long drive shaft , so can I put the short pinion shaft in it from a 32 and use it to make a custom length drive shaft ?

Mine is a 1930 rearend with the long solid steel driveshaft , can I put the short pinion shaft from a 1932 or later in it without mods ? To use a coupler

The short 32 pinion shaft is supported by a bearing on the rear. The A, and early 32 long shafts have no rear support. Its a whole different animal
