As I eluded to in my previous thread.......
Useless 'Made in India' rubber! | The H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com)

all the rubber dust boots on my ball joints and tie rods ends cracked in half. I measured carefully and ordered polyurethane dust boots from www.prothanesuspensionparts.com. They came in today and I threw them on to make sure my measurements were correct. They are!
191824 - upper ball joint boots - $2.92 for the pair...........great prices, huh?
191826 - lower ball joint boots - $3.20 for the pair.
191712 - tie rod end boots - $4.31 for the pair......you'll need 4 of them so, order 2 pair.
Shipping to California is $9.00 and tax put it right at $25 total. Cheap insurance.
They come in black or red too.

Evintho, thanks for posting. I'll need these in the future. Also just revisited your 54 build thread, great build.

Thanks for going to the extra trouble of posting these numbers for us. Do these work on '55-'56 as well?

These are for a '54 Ford Customline.

I would imagine so but, I'm not sure. If you have a pair of venier calipers, measure your ball joints. There's a great video on their site showing exactly how to measure.

55's and 56's used the same front end as a 54 so they should fit all three years plus the 55-57 Tbirds

I ordered new boots from them for my 55. One box only had one boot so I contacted them and they sent me another. They also included a packet of formula 5 prelube??? No use for that stuff on the boots is there?

Has anyone else found the l9824 to not be correct for the upper ball joint? Not right for my 55 uppers. The hole is too small. Don’t know about the lowers or tie rod ends yet. My uppers ball joints are both bad so I started there. I happened to have some Energy Suspension boots on hand (no idea why) #9.19128R, that do fit.

I measured the upper BJ stud on my '54 and it was 0.620. The pin diameter for the 191824's is 0.550. It's a tight fit but you don't have to force the boot over the stud. You want a good snug fit to keep dirt and road grime out of the BJ. Maybe '55 studs have a larger diameter?

The stem on my upper BJ stud is 0.691, the original boot is 0.655 as is the Energy boot I have. Now the 19-1826 ID is 0.624 so it could work, but the 19-1824 is 0.553 ID. So maybe there is a difference between years. I wonder what 50'sboy has found?
