Last year a show was held in the Erlanger area, I think it was a KKOA event. Believe it was at a park or fairgrunds or similar. Anyway, I'm trying to find out if and when the event is scheduled for this year. If it's already gone down, sorry for the waste of time and bandwidth. Anyone in the area know. Thanks.
Heres a link to the KKOA website events. https://bransonsecure.com/k/events.htm Heres the KOA site http://www.kustomsofamerica.com/ I went to that show last year somewhere around Florence Ky. The guy that runs all that is slowly killing it. His numbers dropped off on paying Kustom cars so he has no date cut off now. There wer ebrand new trucks there and ricers setting next to chopped Mercs. There are some really nice Kustoms that come to that show. IM middle aged now and have been around Kustom cars since a teen and I have really noticed a decline in quality work and cars. Some of the hot mags that are on the scene now I cant believe what they pick as a show stopper. When you see the car in person you stand back and go damn! I wouldnt put my name on that.
The KOA show near Florence was held on June 2 & 3. JohnB on here is involved with that show. PM him with questions.
I know its over with now, but that show is at the boone county fair grounds which is in burlington. Take rt.18 to burlington after the court house on right take a right then your right there to the fair grounds which is on the left. I went this year it was ok.
I resigned as a state director for K.O.A. a month or so back. Weldon Haynes and his wife Phyllis who were the east coast directors have resigned as well. They were the ones who spearheaded most of the organization of the Double Date show there in Florence,KY. I've heard that one of the local guys is suppose to take over the show and do the organization, but like I said thats just whats being said.
John B, Sorry to hear it. That show had the potential to be something nice. Lots of new interest in the Cincy / Dayton area now. Hopefully, it'll survive. -RBR
we need start a calendar of the week, where all the cruise ins are in the greater cincy area.I don't know why everyone want to go to a show when there's a cruise in just about every night of the week.I'm not much on the shows, but I do all the cruise ins that I know of.I try to make it to Filmore's out in Florence Ky on Sundays.it's not a big one,but I like it.If a few of us here on HAMB would start hitting these cruise ins we may have a nice time..
I tried to warn mister Hibbs the owner of KOA lol,a few years ago about the mini trucks and ricers at a kustom show.In his own words"they are the future"....The last show I pinstriped at,there was about 80 cars.30 of them was 90 and newer,no swap and one car vendor. The club is dead....Beyond dead. When I first joined koa there was only custom cars and truck. The shows were great.rip koa
