@jnaki... not only does he have the knowledge and the memory, 99 times out of a 100 he has pictures. He's a great source.

 

NO DOUBT!!! The man is a walking, talking Encyclopedia of the So-Cal go-fast scene and then some!!! The man might as well be a National Treasure!!!

Thank you for your support and acknowledgement. It is fun to remember things from our days past as teenagers all the way through to being in the late age 70s. We have been told countless times that memories and recollections of those good/bad times keeps the active brain in motion. (similar to Drag Cars In Motion)

So, as long as I have the resources and my notes/files are usable, I hope to continue contributing to this great website topics and researching facts.

I used to contribute to other sites, but there were just those that wanted to take over the whole website information and make it sound as if they were the source of the knowledge. So, gradually, I left and liked the information and topics of the HAMB. The topics are great with all of its rules and regulations and keeps everyone hopping/contributing in the right way. The HAMB rules!

Despite the lack of keeping on track for high school grades and assignments, I did learn to do some research techniques. The early experience in college still lacked full concentration and grades/research/studying or lack of, suffered. College isn’t for everyone and I thought so until the last two years up to graduation.

Since then, I have loved doing studying, reading everything I can get my hands on and doing research like no other time in my history. This I attribute to my wife, after I met her in college and continued our lifestyle/ideals into a long-term relationship. It works and I am happy.

So, if you don’t mind, I like the references and hope to continue on in my research/relaxation writings. From a young teen hot rod/drag race/surfer to an old guy still in place during our So Cal history... Pandemic or not... YRMV

 

Agreed, really enjoy and appreciate the incredible amount of history and knowledge @jnaki shares about SoCal on this board.

Please keep posting, I find your stories,memories, and photos more than interesting.

 

He has an unfair advantage, he's an automotive journalist that has an unreal collection of 60's photos and film that he began shooting when he was a teenager. I've probably seen first hand most of what he has filmed. I just can't remember it!
