One of the most interesting guys you could ever meet has passed away. Built a brute of a Flathead engine, and was still working in his Mt. Vernon shop last year. Had his Flathead Model A at Bonneville two years ago. This is from 20 years ago. Helped in the development of the Ford Tunnelport project with Kar Kraft. Won the first road race at Seattle International. Built and ran a TransAm Cougar. Test drove the Hussein I for the King of Jordan. Had a fleet of float planes in Alaska. A super swell guy.
Dave was a good customer and bought several T5 kits. Always willing to answer my dumb questions about flat heads. Good guy gone to soon. RIP
Sorry to hear. Went to his place a few years ago and saw an awful lot of flatheads. Listened to an interesting story about how he brought an old airplane from South America to WA.
If memory serves right, he was pretty well known as a sports car racer in the early 60's. I think I was there to watch him win that first race. A multifaceted gent with a lot of tallent.
Built my supercharged flathead with parts I bought from him. he was an interesting fellow and a good person to do business with. He really kew his stuff because my flaty is a great runner. Good gas milage and goes like hell when I want it to. May you rest in peace Dave.
Have a set of his tube headers on my 40 boy I hope they never rust out just sent them back to Jet-Hot to be recoated Best headers I've ever had.RIP
WoW.....12 years ago Dave custom ground my flathead's blower cam, still running it today and runs like a champ. Great guy to talk Flatheads with. Godspeed Sir.
