Many later model vehicles like Blazers, Suburbans, etc have pretty compact cable drive mechanisms, this allows more flexibility for mounting the drive motor. At one time I had considered using one on my 66 Suburban but too much work considering they originally had a fixed window.

Chevrolet Blazer's......full size 70's models....rear window motor/or manual mechanism and arms were same, (or damn near the same), as the early Chevy wagons. I had a '66 Chevelle wagon and replaced worn out rear window motor with one from a '72 Blazer. Pretty sure all the 70's Blazers used the same mechanism as the stationwagons, (early 60's, mid/late 60's). You might want to do some research to be sure......Google is your friend.

The rear window motor on my '63 BelAir wasn't working, so I took it to a local electric motor shop. They took it apart & cleaned it up. Said it looked pretty good inside. It works fine now. But, Make sure your safety switch is also working. It's on the side of the tailgate. Only allows the window to operate in the tailgate closed position. So, you can't roll the window up, then close the gate, thus breaking the window. It's really just making a ground for the motor. Mine was junk, so I byp***ed it by running the ground wire to the gate itself. Not really recommended, but it was a no cost temporary fix, until I can find a switch. Just something to check out, before you replace your motor.

Probably adapt (or just bolt in) a newer model motor as mentioned. When I get a chance I'll dig out my old Hollander and see what I can find out. Don't remember if it goes back to '60, but it's close.

I used a 1985 Caprice wagon tailgate window motor on my 60 Brookwood and it bolted in like it was made for it. Bolt holes same, gear same , same same

Did the 1985 Caprice wagon tailgate window motor work for the 1960 Chevy? Mine is a 1960 Pontiac Safari..
