Encourage one of our young Soldiers

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by OldsGuy, Aug 17, 2006.

  1. Jesse, good luck to you man and God speed. I spent 23 years in the Army (1st Cav, 3rd ACR, 2nd Inf, 1st AD, 37 TC Group, Korea and some others) and wouldn't trade it for anything. Just got to old to keep up with you young guys.

Jesse, Hang in there play there game, Get out to the real world and learn everything you can from the guys who have been there for awhile. Listen to your senior enlisted people they should get you pointed in the right direction.

    Jesse,

I'm sure I'm just reiterating what everyone else has said but, Thanks. You are doing an honorable thing and I truly hope you are proud to be there.

Once your done with basic I hope your going to go play on the 34 foot tower, fall from the 250 ft tower, and then PUT YOUR KNEE's to the BREEZE!! (Paratroopers will know what I mean).

Whether you go Airborne or not, I for one am very proud of both you and those in your squad, platoon, company,.........

Anyone who chooses to serve is a damn fine individual in my book.

Go for the Ranger tab, be around other motivated soldiers, not a bunch of straightlegged fuckwits.

I just want to say a heartfelt thanks, Jesse. You guys mean a lot to me and my family and friends and to an awful lot of folks out there no matter what political persuasion thay are. I'm not what you'd call "religious" but I pray hard twice a day for you and your brothers and sisters in arms out there, sometimes more. I think it helps when I work at it. Someday, you'll have the time for that olds, and I know it'll be a big pleasure of a project. When I say you're in my prayers, I mean it. By name. Daily. Starts today.

    Jesse,
You are doing what all young Americans should do but only the ones who really care about this country do. You should be proud of what you are doing, I can tell how proud your father is of you by this thread. I served during Vietnam and my son was in Iraq with the Marines in 2003 when this thing started. Take care of yourself and listen to your instructors they have been there it can save your life! Save some of that army pay for that OLDS!

Drop, Just plain Drop!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just drop for even asking!!!!!!

No, you cannot recover, You havent even counted "one" Yet! :D

Best of wishes to him. I graduated from C 3/32nd in 1991 and eventually even became Drill Sergeant at Ft. Sill, OK, B 1/19th. I'm Military Police (Reserves) Now and only 4 years till I get 20 year letter.

Never got to go back to Benning though after OSUT. However, I can still smell the BDU Soured smell from it being wet all day long form sweat and souring on our bodies while in the woods. (Ever left your clothes in the washer for a few days and they "Sour"?) Same thing but happens every day as you wear them in the heat and humidity.

Oh yeah, dont blow you knee out in Airborne school! My best friend did that, so he was sent with the 10th Mountain in Ft. Wainwright Alaska. Brrrrrrrrrrr! Buhahahhaha!

Jesse, Thank you for having the vision and courage to do what your doing. It's people like you that in the past and in the futue will secure the liberty we enjoy in this country. Don't get descouraged by what you may hear or read, the liberal press and media don't share our dream. That dream has been continued from the first patriots for over 200 years down to you. You are carrying on a proud heritage and tradition and because of it we'll remain a free people far into the future. stay alert, be safe and return to a grateful family and nation.

I'm in Iraq with the 101st ABN getting ready to fly home next month. The biggest thing I can say is don't listen to the media. If they reported a quarter of the shit that we do over here the country would be behind us 300%. Yeah it sucks over here living in a tent eating the same crap day in and day out. it's either hot as fuck and dusty or wet and muddy. I prefer the wet and muddy except when the tent leaks on my cot. Haji's a bitch, lobs rockets and mortars at ya off and on. Then there's the IEDs You get to run around in the heat wearing about 40lbs of body armor and ammo for hours on end. You stink can't drink or get laid. It sucks!

But you know what, Even though I've spent a year here and know that I'll be back again next August I wouldn't trade it for anything. I came back in after a 15 year break in service. I'm 39 and I'm proud as hell to be over here with young guys like you. It makes a difference. You will make a difference. You will see that when you see what we do here. Don't ever let things get bottled up. Talk to your battle buddy or a NCO. Just stay focused and watch your buddies. That's all that matters.

Take care, good luck, Air Assault!!
