I need detailed pictures of a 1932 Ford swing out window mechanism, studs, mounts, brackets, slides, etc. How the whole mechanism is ***embled and how it operates. Thanks
Like I said, what kind? A 5-window is different than a 3-window. https://cwmoss.com/collections/windshield/1932 Check that page for a good representation of the hinges, and the frames. They don't interchange. I don't think the slide arms even interchange. Maybe the knurled nuts on the slide arms might interchange.
How did you guys ever find the HAMB when you can't do a simple search? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/tech-swingout-windshield-frame-in-a-gl***-car.193186/
I have never driven my old beater with te windshield open but have driven thousands of miles with the vent open. HRP
Is your coupe gl*** or steel and if steel, original Henry or UPAC? I just installed the windshield in my UPAC 32-5W (unchopped) and my gl*** guy (in his 80's) said to pull it as tight as possible and don't open it cos if you do you'll have leaks forever. And he has been driving a 32-5W since 1973. I can take pics of mine if you want but I'm not opening it LOL
It's an original Henry 5 window, just got an original windshield frame, but all of the hardware for the windshield swing out mechanism is missing, any pictures will help. Thanks
First photo is hinge on body above windshield opening, second is the stud for the swing arm. The bracket for the stud is held to the A pillar with three rivets. Third and fourth photos show the w/s half of the hinge and the swing arm bracket. Next photo shows the keeper to hold the w/s open, the thumb wheel tightens against the keeper to hold the w/s either closed or open. Last photo is from the thread mentioned above, it shows the items ***embled. I should have mentioned the swing arm pivot, it’s above the keeper and thumb wheel.
There you go @gypsy @Fordors has provided all the pics and info that you will need. Note also on your OG windshield frame you cannot remove your top hinge brackets as for some reason they have 3 screws plus a couple of spot welds.
