    From above -
With two Hemi's with blowers, even 30psi of air in the tires couldn't keep'em from wrinkling sitting still ! Notice the lower frame rail vs. the ground where the body stops...

This car & owner are from my hometown - Russell, KS. He (R.C. Williams) still has the car today. It was world champion in Top Gas in 1970 & 1971, I believe. IMG_4977.JPG

Groovy paint job! Van Iderstine should be a familiar name if you're from the East Coast.

  16. Yup, I'm originally from KC (Hickman Mills) and went to Ray Motes' Independence Day soiree in Olathe for several years (even had the Flying Dutchman funny car on display one year and lit it off). Hung out at Dick Harrell's shop on HM Drive and KCIR - so sad that it's closed now...

More drag pics! Another gas class team from KC...

I miss top gas. You had to tune on gas blown. You had to be aware of conditions changing. Lippy

Funny thing about this picture, the driver list does not include Goober Tuller, next to Bob Muravez, perhaps the named driver most associated with the car. Freight train.jpeg
