I have a 59A flatty at a machine shop for over a month now and there has been no movement. Does anyone have a good shop within driving distance of Northeast Ohio? First need is to hot tank block and magnaflux then pressure test, if the block is good I will need to resurface heads, intake and maybe bore out cylinders to .04
Welcome to the HAMB. Despite growing up in Geneva, I don't know any vintage engine builders in NE OH, so all I can do is bump your request back up to the top.
Been in business for decades. https://www.google.com/search?q=fla...bGF0aGVhZCBtYWNoaW5lIHNob3AoAA,trex_id:g5vCCf
If you find a shop that is not loaded with work at this time of the year avoid them, the machine work may not be up to par. My 59A block has been at the shop for over 2 months, and there are still several blocks ahead of mine. Another thing is to ask them if they have the plates to pressure test the block, most shops can't pressure test a flathead, and don't let them tell you if it p***ed the mag it will be good, been there done that, a mag test does not pickup porosity, so a pressure test is a must.
There's a lot of guys on this site that are full of it. And by "it" I mean great advice, of course. Welcome aboard and hang on tight!
