That is looking good!

 

No bolts. No clamps. Just hope, and wishful thinking.

I don't know this might be a permanent thing. I've been working on cleaning up the fenders and getting some kind of paint on them.

 

This did eventually become a fully functional car without having to keep the panels wood-clamped to a 2x6.

Older photos of my cabriolet build. Reskinning the body over new wood required many many mock-ups as the fit progressed. The mirror arms required many mock-up fittings. The top bows required only minimal trial fits, but rear window required more to create desired rear visibility, and could only proceed after multiple seat bottom fits. Car construction is all about making the car fit the driver.

 

You cast your own mirror brackets?!?! Now THAT'S some cool **** right there!

 

Sackcrete to figure out ride height. This one is wired, visegriped, and clamped together.

 

I haven't seen any photos of just a cowl with someone sitting behind it going "vrooom" yet. Holding a steering wheel optional.

 

After a case of beer the other night.

 

My poor old Sport Coupe sat in the corner mocked together in the garage for about 10 years before I finally got back on it and almost finished it. Still needs the interior done but is up and running.

Served me well for 32 years, went to NH in 2020.

 

DAMN!! That looks great! I really dig the odd ball body styles.
Is it brown or a burgundy color?

a little better than loosely mocked up, but not by much ready to be blown apart and made functional.

 

Had fenders piled on, grill and rad support hanging under the hood, the other door in the cab and almost put the box on then 2nd guessed my back's ability to take it all off again. Will wait until I have horsepower but, it was all to figure out the ol' girl still isn't quite low enough.

That would be 42 years, wouldn't it?
