A few months ago my dad and I found this ‘27 T in almost complete condition as it would have been in 1948. I did a write up for Kustomrama here: https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Ray_Fox's_1927_Ford But I thought I’d post it here to hopefully eventually find someone with a lead on its history!
Congratulations and that is one super cool time capsule and it found a perfect caretaker...can't wait for you to share all you've found out about it. I too hope the Hamb can help dig up some History to help paint its participation in the big picture...
@FlyinA while it's pretty straightforward for any of us to copy the pics and port them over here it would be nicer if you could share your journey here with the images and the story as only you and your father could allude... It's an incredible story and too bad we never got to meet Ray... Perhaps you should keep in touch with the family as they may find some more images and items connected to this time capsule... Again congratulations...
I reached out with others for @FlyinA to share more but I have to share this one... ...it's in there... @nochop clic on this Link for now till Flyin comes around... https://kustomrama.com/wiki/Ray_Fox's_1927_Ford
Side note, these Chevy tail lights were in the trunk of the roadster when we got it. They went over to @hudsonjoe49 for the Model A he found
...Great Stuff Hamber...High Fives!!!...You're a Gentleman of a Hoodlum...I bet your cheeks are sore from smiling... I love the Hamb!!!
Very cool. Please don't make this another "survivor" that gets modernized for "safety" until it's a just another street rod with no soul. Just oil everything and let it sit a bit, oil some more, drive it. Looking forward to more of it! D
California Gold that is...that's that solid metal that's associated with the dry states we often praise...tucked in a dry garage...even better...
Plan is to stay true to what evidence we have to how it was originally built, using every part we reasonably can. It won't be getting the high dollar pro shop treatment, but it's obvious that was never how this car was. I'd like to keep that spirit, but do the original builder justice to his original intent (meaning some cosmetic clean up, but no re-chroming or filler)
Don't know if the car came with a pink but if it only came with a bill of sale guard the reg slip with your life. It will probably make getting it registered in your name much easier. But then again maybe not if the ID number isn't completely legible. Great find regardless.
Dark Blue or Henry's favorite...I'm a little color challenged...I note the Wishbone Tow Bar, I wonder if he raced it at the drags after so many Street incidents?
What's in your garage Tom......I thought I had to clean my Garage but looking at that it's now perfectly clean... But usually there isn't buried treasure like we have witnessed today...
