    Hey All,

I broke my front brake cable (runs from the handle through the firewall and down to the equalizer at the frame crossmember) and ordered a replacement from Obsolete & Cl***ic.

They list B5A-2853-A as the correct P/N, the part I got doesn't have any ID on it, nor the bag. This cable has balls on both ends and is ~55" long.

The cable that was on the car has a ball at the handle end and a threaded stud at the equalizer end, and is ~51" long.

It looks like the ball/ threaded stud, 51" cable is original to the car but who knows.

Can anybody comment on what their car has? Mine is a 2 dr. sedan, and I know from my first conversation with O&C and from their catalog that the Sunliner/Convertible is different, they measured one and its a ball/ threaded stud that's ~63" long.

If nobody has a cable handy I'll have to see if O&C has one similar to the one I broke from another application.

    Thanks!
    -Matt

Can’t tell you the length but my 55 Sunliner has threaded end under the car.

With a ball on each end, sounds like the rear cable, not the front. The number seems right for the front, probably mislabeled

I ended up getting another cable, PN AB-2853-D, which O&C has listed for 52-54 Fords. ~53" long, ball at one end stud at the other...
