@Lil32 you could be right on that, makes an even better story. Wasn't at the 73 event but have pics of the car at their Motel in 75 or 77 - need to check my color slide to confirm what year LOL

Yeah, we went 4 bar like sprint cars in the early/mid 70s onmodifieds up here in the northeast. Used jacobs ladders to locate the rear side to side, panhard bar for the front. There was a lot of experimenting with suspensions during that era. From buggy springs, to coil-overs, to Reese hitch bars, and eventually torsion bars. Now they run all sorts of trick stuff to get forward and side bite. And to unbind a 4 bar setup, like the sprint car guys, just throw away the lower left bar. It's redundant from an engineering point of view, as long as the remaining bars are strong enough to take the loads. But seeing those setups on street cars starting with Grabowski's shows there really is nothing new under the sun. And I seem to remember reading somewhere that he copied a race car for that front end.

I got mine out for the first cruise of the year today. Took the camera to prove it but turned out it's battery was dead. Didn't check mileage but was out for over 2 hrs
