Does the 46-48 Ford or Merc have the detail at the top of the bezel shown in the 2nd picture?
    Thank you

I respectfully disagree. The Ford/Merc headlight of that era, as I recall, are ‘flatter’/‘broader’ than the @indianmark sample.

Sadly, I can only claim what it ain’t…not what it is…:(

I did not think it was 46-48 Ford or Merc. I never seen one with that detail on the top as shown in the 2nd picture. Still a mystery.

  9. BOSCH headlight gl*** had a similar sculpture in the outer edge of the gl***. Not only on German cars but real old Alfa's had Bosch as well.

  10. Looks like the bezel on my 46 coupe.

  11. According to my 1941-48 Ford resto book by the early V8 club, it might be an early '41 Ford (11A-13045). The later '41 and the one to '46 had more ribs and no flat spot on top.

I've searched & searched, I know I've had one in my hand, but couldn't remember what it fit. I think the early '41 Ford guys are right,

Looks like it is an early 1941 Ford. Thank you to all who responded. Looks like 1oldtimer and redo32 nailed it. Thanks again to all!!!
