    man-a-fre -

I went Friday AM. Found a couple cool small items - "Big Sounds of the Drags" record, Fremont (CA) dragstip nostalgia video - and a super-*****in wing for my nostalgia Bantam altered ($40!). I also got a pair of early SBC "Chevrolet Script" valve covers for $15 - that went for $5 at the silent auction (even though another dude at Springfield had a pair he was asking $45 for. Go figure!

Anyways, rain aside, it was a pretty good meet. We were both real happy with out finds. Tons of good stuff there, for sure.

Sorry I didn't run across you at the drags.

My pal Ted scored a never-used 'gl*** turtle deck for his track-nose T-bucket
    ($75).

after two p***es around the entire meet and one p*** of the car corral i have to admit i was rained out, footsore, weary and had a great time. i came home with a few things but have to admit that while i was there, 9am till 2:30pm the rain had the majority of the parts covered and the vendors taking refuge in there autos and tents. when i arrived at springfield i stopped at I-Hop for breakfast just as the storm started,i stopped for a snack on the way home at the rib crib in mansfield and the radio announced that the rain was out of springfield, guess i must be a black cat ! I found a set of MICHIGAN 1931 license plates for $12.00 I beat him up on the price he was asking.:D One will go on the guest room head board I am making outta strickly MI plates. The other one I might sell to recoup my money;) :D

Also picked up a nifty set of arm rests for Big Olds. Everyone that I was walking around with knew the couple of things I was looking for and Jerry actually pulled the armrests outta a bin. $5 price tag on them and Jerry offers $3! (Thanks bud!) Guy said sure and I couldn't get my money outta my pocket fast enough.:D

The only way it could have been a better day spent at a swapmeet was if I had found the stainless beltline trim piece I'm looking for.

I have some photos of some drowned looking HAMBer's that I'll post later on tonight.:D

I found 3 '59 hupcaps that are better than what are on the '58 for $25. And missed out on a '55 Chevy that I should have gotten.

  7. Missed out on a stock ’56 or ‘57 Pontiac 4bbl air cleaner. Made the mistake of thinking first, instead of buying first then thinking later. Walked around for a while and by the time I decided it would look good under the hood of my Hudson it was gone. Oh-well… I’ll just tell myself that he wanted too much for it anyway. (No price on it and I never asked)
