Thought maybe I'd update on my favourite website and all my friends here, some know I had heart issues, diagnosed last august as a valve replacement, and while we are in there, a double bypass. Immediately.
Test, test, test first, then the cardiogram left a big blood clot in my right lung, pulmonary embolism its called, and you're lucky if it don't kill you. It didn't, but put me four months behind in surgery, as I grew weaker. Blood thinners are hell.
Zoom to Feb 24, got my ass in, now have a 12 inch gash, hurt like hell, but very much alive.
All my stuff is stuffed in my shop, which I haven't even been into since september, poor old mary hasn't felt the key turn since then.

May'ish will allow me to drive again, mary will get it good this year, remember old sophie my side kick? She didn't make xmas, although she tried, its been a rough year.
So soon as I get my shit together a bit more, I'll be back like a thunderstorm. Just want all of you to know this is a special place, feels like family. See ya soon.

Wow. Glad you made it through all of that and even gladder (is that a word?) to see you posting again. Take your time, but do whatever exercises your doctors recommend it does help. Some folks come out the other side like brand new, others feel the lingering effects forever. Either way, it beats the alternative. Lots of neat stuff has been happening on here, have fun catching up. Good to have you back!

    Thanks for the health update.
I appreciate that you chose to include your HAMB family in telling what's been going on.
I'd never spent the night in a hospital until 2018, but now I've got enough scars to make up for it.
I know there's days when you don't give much of a shit except making it through that day.
    Take care of yourself.

  11. Welcome back! Glad to hear they've gotten you rebuilt to almost factory spec.
Do what they tell you and take what they give you for the PE! My wife had a double PE (out of the blue) about three years ago which scared the hell out of us. She was on thinners for about a year, but doing EXACTLY what the specialists said, she came out fine and that is all behind her now.
Take care and keep us posted!

Brother went through double valve replacement. Two years later he is just starting to feel like his old self. Don't rush things, do exactly what the doctors say, chin up, you'll get there.

It’s good to see you back here, and especially with the good spirits you’re in. Don’t rush things and above all follow your doctors advice.

Further to another thread, has TROLLST been 'rebuilt' or 'refurbished'?

I'd say the pit crew knows the answer but it's quite evident he's still in the race just like all us other Hoodlums on our way to the checkered flag...;)

  19. Good to see you are back after the rebuild. I had my rebuild over 10 years ago. Came home 5 days after the surgery. First couple of days were a little sketchy what with feeling like crap, sore and much interrupted sleep. Found sleeping in the recliner was much easier. After a week I was much better and able to keep moving which is very important. Would run out of steam easily but it got better with each day. I had the wife take me to Home Depot where I would walk around in the store for daily exercise as it was in the middle of Jan. and too icy and cold to be outside. After a month I felt much better, after 2 months I was in cardiac rehab and feeling good. Have never looked back.
Takes time but you will get through it like we all have. Keep exercising, don't lay around. You will start to feel better with each day.

My Dad had a quad bypass at 53, then a triple at 76. Lived to be 89, heart DR's today can do amazing things.
Follow their advice and you will be helping the rest of us for a long time. Best Wishes.

    Welcome back, @trollst
    I'm "GLADDER" too.

We're all a bunch of old farts.
    Barely running.
    Bad valves...
    Leaky exhaust pipes...
    Bald tires...

    And you're a tough MF.
