For those wondering what a 54-56 Buick would look like on 1963+ 15x6 Buick Rally wheels. The rears required a small spacer to clear the m***ive '56 Buick hub bores.

The wheels kinda "make the car", but, That Buick is awesome no matter what wheels are on it. 4 door h/ts are a fave of mine.

Nice combo! All Buick, too!! Had a '66 Rivera that came with those wheels. They look great on your car!

Good choice, I used them on my all black '56 Buick two door special, with blackwall tires and it looked killer....I even like the Pinners too!

Good looking factory wheel. Fits that car nicely.

Everyone knows they're from a later car. But they just work.

I used to keep a set of 15's around to throw on temporary daily drivers. Look good on any 70's - 80 sedans as well.

On 49 to 56 Buicks, nothing looks better than Skylark Wire wheels.

  16. My kids are on the verge of getting their own cars so a 4 door has limited future need but, I like the concept of crowding everyone into one car and doing a weekender somewhere. I'd drive it and I'm a Ford guy.

I think the wheels look good. But I'm a little biased, as I have them on my car trailer.

The Century was the same body and wheelbase as the Special but had the 4 barrel engine that the Super or Roadmater did hence the 4 port holes while the Special with the two barrel engine had three.
I cheated, I had a 55 Special 4 door hardtop that I put an engine out of a limo size Super Sedan in. That car would burn some road.
LOL the "chrome wheels, were spray can silver with beauty rings but fooled more than one guy. I think this was just after I popped the beauty rings on but hadn't got the tire black out yet.

    upload_2022-4-16_4-32-19.png Thanks, @themoose

    Hello,

After the fiasco with my 1958 Impala being stolen and the Buick Skylark Wire Wheels being taken, I was shocked. But, in order to get the Impala back on the road, I had to make a quick decision as to what wheels/tires I was going to use to put back on the Impala. It was sitting in a police impound yard on a trailer and I needed to get it out of the yard, ASAP.

I certainly could not buy Chevy rims as the bolt pattern/axles had been modified to accommodate the Buick Skylark Wire Wheels. So, I was looking at several Buick wheels and decided that the 1963 Rallye Wheels would look cool on my 58 Impala. The cost was higher than just chrome wheels, and the local Buick dealer near our house had the Rallye Wheels in stock. So, I was ready to plunk down the insurance cash for those cool chrome wheels.

Now, that would have been something. At first, the Buick Skylark Wire Wheels on the 58 Impala were the only ones in So Cal that we saw or encountered. After all of the modifications and intricate spoke wheel parts adjustments, I decided that the next wheel would be a solid wheel without the worry of a million spokes and nubs. ( and another possible theft…)

As I was deciding at the parts counter, the guy that worked there said a set of all black Buick rims are sitting on the floor. They were a last minute cancellation order and he could sell them to me fast. The discount was applied and I settled for a much less costly amount for 4 plain black Buick steel rims to put on my wheel/tire less Impala sitting in the impound yard.

I think back and those Buick Rallye Wheels on blackwall tires would have made my 1958 black Impala look rather cool and one of a kind. The young kid I sold the Impala to within a few months later, was so happy to have the stealthy looking all black on black on black Impala with a C&O Stick Hydro and powerful motor. He was a happy teen with his new/old 58 Impala and I was off to college in Northern California.

For your Buick sedan, they look as if they were a factory stock item. The set would have looked great on my 58 black Impala, too. But, I had to move fast and make a quick decision to get my Impala out of the impound yard. The low cost of the Buick black wheels, sitting right in front of me, the tires I had at home and the thought of extra $$$ for a Baja, Mexico surf trip loomed in my brain.

Those Buick Wheels also had a great look that would have improved just about any car, especially my 1958 Impala, back then.

Perfect wheel/tire combo on a perfect car. I think "factory mags" look better than aftermarkets on the right cars. But I had a bad experience with a new set of Cragars so I stick with OE now.
