Crap...Johnny Cash is gone

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Missing Link, Sep 12, 2003.

  1. I know what CD I need to listen to today.

  2. I got One Piece at a Time blaring from the computer as I type this....Hell even Jack Tripper p***ed on....Who's next? George Jones is playing in Topeka tonight, I'm gonna bet it will be a pretty somber show.

"this is the Cottonmouth, in the psychobilly Cadillac, come on"

    cheaterchris .. you are a freak :)

Johnny will be missed, i remember when i was little, my mom telling me stories about him while she was washing dishes, we were listening to him on an AM radio that was sitting on top of the icebox. She told me how he was hooked on drugs, but he was a real kind hearted person and a "down home" kind of guy, which then made him not seem so bad. She was a fan... i turned out to be one too.

R.I.P Johnny .. you will be copied... you will be impersonated... you will be bad mouthed ... but you will never be replaced.

  7. this ****s, just found out..

Johnny's music crossed all generations...on our way to a car show a while back,
my dad, myself and my 5 year old nephew were listening to Johnny...my nephew's
favorite song being "One Piece At A Time"...he knows every word by heart.

I knew he wouldn't be long for this world after June died...RIP Johnny.

  16. We always hope for a second wind, but I guess June's leaving took all of his breath. I was expecting him to be back in the studio sometime soon. I, like all of you, will greatly miss his exceptional talent. It's hard to put into words how much his music influenced so many people. I remember an aquaintance of mine pulled up in his 34 Dodge rocking out to I Walk The Line, and I thought how appropriate for such a kool truck.

Johnny you're goin' down Jackson, save a seat for us all.

i posted this before looking at the site. infact, they're playing an interview from 1997 today.

The most influential man in music we have lost, I guess the man came around. Well we know that he picked up the best and the man in black will be missed.

They don't make em like that anymore, I don't see many artists/movie star types that give a **** about the common man and women, and the **** that effects our lives.

And thank God for Johnny Cash my DAD didn't name me SUE!!!!
