The problem I am having is getting the throttle to return to the idle position. As you push down on the pedal the carbs open up as they should, but lifting off the pedal they do not return to idle position. As you can see from the picture the cable bends in the upward position not allowing it to fully return. I thought about using the stock Model A throttle ***embly but I don't think it will extend over enough to clear the headers. I had a bell crank setup for this manifold but for the life of me can't find it. I know it is in the shop but I have hid it well.

Any ideas how to make this work or another option for the throttle?

Stromberg makes little springs which fit on the left side of the base and push the common linkage arms back into closed position. Very clean and work well.

But it seems your pedal is staying down and not pulling the cable back into the sheath. Do you have a kind of spring on the pedal? What kind of pedal?

I think you have to much cable out from mounting point to the throttle arm , everyone I've ever used on something like a cater afb , or Edelbrock carb has way less cable showing which is what I think your problem might be it's allowing cable to bend instead of going back into the sheath , attached a quick Google image of random carb to show how short lokar throttle cables mount, try moving the mount forward towards front of the intake more see if it helps.

I do have these springs on the other side of the carbs..
There is no spring on pedal. There is a return spring on one of the carbs.
The pedal is from Speedway Motors

I agree that there is too much cable out of the housing. I need to figure a way to move mount closer and see what that does.

Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming

There needs to be a return spring on the front carb to keep the cable taught. Im ***uming the surplus vanishes if the cable in pulled toward the fan. If not there is slack in the cable needing to be adjusted out.

Show the gas pedal and how the cable is routed, the cable is binding somewhere between pedal and the bracket on the carb. I've seen the cable saw through the aluminum ferals when not aligned properly.
