James Taylor was a much better actor than singer. But, it's a pretty low bar.

 

I don’t think the movie was intended to be great.

 

Yup even car movies for the most part get it wrong .

as far as the sound effects the movie “Convoy “ is great for this . Rubber ducks Mack has about 5 different Diesel engine sounds , plus in one scene it sounds like a SBC and another like a BBC !!!

grabing gears down the highway turbos and diffs just SCREAMING and the white lines are going at a snails pace

still an incredibly stupidly fun movie to watch .

if it’s got wheels or tits I’ll give it a look

As a fan of "MOPAR " products, and as a retired Teamster Truck driver, this particular film, still makes me smile. Duel was a classic, offering a little something, to piss off everybody !

 

Ya gotta watch some Beaver and catch some good Ole Hotrod action to balance things out a bit...

IMO, the author is a fag. My last two years of high school, as soon as summer vacation hit my older brother and I would load up the van with our TT bikes and hit the road till our money ran dry going from track to track. Our only goal was to race as many tracks as possible. We had the time of our lives and that time we had together was awesome, and most likley would make shit movie. Two Lane Blacktop is a great movie!

Alan, what the heck is that .png stuck at the bottom of your post...I saw one of those on one of @Dick Stevens posts...its a nothing file...did you load it, can you choose Edit/More Options and delete it?

 

dont see how that has any bearing on if the movie is good or not , or if it’s even true. Either way it’s a moot point .

When I see that it is how an unposted image appears if you don't select thumbnail or full image...

Yes, there should have been a picture. I don't know why this happened and I've never noticed that happening on one I have posted.

Yes movie was kind of Lame , Close to a real documentary but it didn't show all the aspects of street racing and traveling , Arguments and fighting. Its seems that most here Did not live that life style , or know what Real Street Racing / Hard core Rodder was about , There is those of Us that built our own cars did pretty much all except boring a block unless you had access to a machine shop, , almost every night , out Street Racing & traveling to different towns & states , it was a greaser life , most do not have disease flowing through their blood , Late 60s threw late 80s you drove your ride every where as a dayley, You did have another Vehicle just for back up when you sling the rods out so you could go to the Machine Shop to bore another block until you were able to get your engine back together or trans ,rear Most just dont know what you missed out On ,Being apart of , Its like now, people buy a HD & think there a biker , same with HR's !!
, Serious Street Racer's ,Hot Rodders , guys with Muscle cars,
Where not the typical person to go bracket race @ the strip , You would only show up put down 1 or 2 passes , to see where you where @ because of a modification/change Then go on the Hunt to to gamble to make $

He didn't sing in the movie, you have nothing to worry about.... I just like driving stupidly fun cars across the country, and racing along the way
