For starters, I need a '38 Pontiac RH Wiper Transmission. The photos show the LH, of which I have a few. It may be the same as '37-'38 Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and possibly Lasalle. Does anyone have an old Trico catalog to confirm this? I've seen reproductions for Chevys, which look like they will fit, they just don't have the grooves on the front. Can anyone confirm this? I'd hate to spend the money only to find they don't fit. I'm not too concerned about the missing grooves if I can find a matching set.

Second, what's the purpose of the tube extending out the bottom? It's ported up to the small screw in the side of the unit. At first I thought it was to lubricate them from the outside but the lubricant would miss the moving parts. Did some sort of nozzle get threaded in place of the screw for wiper fluid?

Third, where can I find the bushing/gear to adapt the wiper arms?

    Thanks for you help!

The tube is for the windshield washer squirter. If you bought that option, you got a nozzle in place of the screw and the pump and jar.

David Gersic and kwsullivan like this.
  3. Yes the '37-'38 Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Lasalle are the same. I think Chevrolet will work as well since it is GM too.
