Every state is different, in NY, YOM (year of manufacture) are legal if you go through the process with paperwork. Check your DMV. Pat
Google is your best source. https://www.wpri.com/target-12/antique-plate-use-soaring-in-ri-since-lawmakers-loosened-rules/
I made one for a Model A pickup many years ago. I used aluminum angle for the cover to sit in on both sides of the bed, I used marine and covered it with black vinyl top material, I also used a strap piano hinge on front behind the rear window to lift the cover for access to the bed, The last time I saw the truck it still had the cover. Thanks guys I will check out dmv. I was hoping someone from RI would have registered old plates with no issues
Thinking HRP posted on the wrong thread. There is one about a bed cover for a pick up. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/bed-cover-for-48-ford-pickup.1258672/ But its just a guess.
^^^^ THIS^^^^ doesnn't anyone do their own ******** homework or do you expect others to do it for you. He nailed it, all states are different in their requirements. Any nonsense about "Well in____ we ____ " doesn't count. Very simply Welcome | RI Division of Motor Vehicles Then License Plates | RI Division of Motor Vehicles I see no provisions for YOM plates in Rhode Island on that web page.
It doesn't seem to count in your own state, if you don't keep up w/ current laws. I recently found cl***ic plate registration got a LOT more stringent just over the past year. Tax increases and control standards, it seems. Joe
