  3. '60 Ford Taunus (German Ford).

I don't think Ford ever actually imported these, but I do know that GIs brought more than few here. Almost bought one that somebody had hacked a Y-block into but it was a mess...

That seems right! These movies were in Oklahoma City. I wonder how it got there? It’s my wife’s great grandparents.

  6. Most likely a returning GI brought it into the US, but there were some Ford dealers importing various European Fords into the country on their own. I don't believe that Ford corporate ever 'officially' imported any of them until the Mercury Capri. Getting parts for them ****ed....

The Ford Cortina, Anglia and Prefect were three that Ford sold in the US prior to the Capri.

  8. Again, I don't think Ford US 'officially' imported any of them. Some dealers cut deals of their own with Ford UK and brought them in. I owned a '60 Anglia in '66-67 and the local Ford dealers had zip available and no way to even order parts for one. Other than a few ignition parts, every part I ever needed for mine had to be ordered through a import parts specialty store. I heard the same complaint from the Cortina owners, unless you went back to the original selling dealer you were SOL... and even that was iffy.

A couple years newer and that Taunus could have had a OHV V4. I got caught going down that rabbit hole on YT awhile ago.
