I thought it was part of the hood release mechanism but I can't figure out where it goes. It came off the car. I blasted and primed it and it's ready to go.........somewhere! Can't find it in '1949-59 Ford Car Parts and Accessories Illustrations Catalog' either, at least not under the hood/fender section. Does anyone have any clue what this is and where it goes? Thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure, but it looks to me like it goes on front crossmember under the radiator saddle. Just a wild *** guess.

On my '54, that bracket bolts on the inner right side of the engine compartment. Then the fan/blower ***embly slides into it and is held in place with a pin that goes in the slotted hole.
