Thank you for covering this. Amazing job getting all those photos in a crowded place. No people walking in front of your photos.

It will be interesting to see if they start back up their Friday open house on LARS weekend. It was great to head out there for the afternoon, then over to Walden's shop for their Ice Cream Social. Great times! Walden's has kept it going anyway.

Sure glad that you found out about it and got to go out there to take some pictures. Thanks for posting them.
Does anyone know the story of what's been happening with SoCal over the last few years? They expanded and had big booths with lots of parts at many events, opened Sacramento and other locations but then seemed to contract again. Like someone said, their booths at events seemed to only feature T-shirts and small parts, our shop in Sacramento was shown as "temporarily closed" on the internet, now a move out of Pomona? I've used their parts on several builds and they are always top notch, I hope they are healthy and will continue to sell their chassis and suspension parts. I know Pete passed away and Alex is getting up there, so who's in charge, how many stores still exist and what are their plans as we recover from the mess?
Sorry, don't mean to hijack or derail the thread, just curious.

Hey Bud, Rob from the SO-CAL Speed Shop Headquarters.
If you've purchased from us in the past 15+ years, you've bought parts from myself or my partner Bob Goldsmith that passed away. (RIP Buddy)
Yes sadly Pete Chapouris III has passed away as well but his Son Pete Chapouris IV and his Family have taken the reigns and we are doing absolutely great.
We did 14 Big Events this year 2022, and for the 1st time ever we were accepted by NHRA to vend at their Events.
    PC3 would have loved that.
We are a Featured Vendor at the Petersen Automotive Museum and we opened 2 New SO-CAL Speed Shops. One of them in WACO Texas, and the other in Langley Canada.
Alex Xydias is doing well. He turned 100 on March 22nd. ACME Models has made a New Bellytank Model with the number 100 on the side instead of the traditional 28 for his Birthday.
We now Sponsor the Nitro Revival Drag Races, Jeff "The Nitro Surfer" Diehl NHRA Driver, and the Safety Trucks for the world famous Famoso Drag Strip in Bakersfield Calif.
Along with all that Fun Stuff we started Racing our New SO-CAL Land Speed Car at Bonneville and El Mirage.
We are working on getting in the 200 MPH Club in 2023.
Thank you for mentioning us in this thread. I am always happy to give an update of what's happening at SCSSHQ.
Come by the Shop in beautiful Upland Calif. right on Route 66.
Always a pleasure to speak with any HAMB Alliance Member.
